State Student Officers

Meet the UASC State Officers

The Utah Association of Student Councils (UASC) is led by a dedicated team of 10 State Officers, each bringing their unique perspectives, skills, and leadership experiences to support students across Utah.

Keidra Pierce

President of the UASC, Westlake High School, Class of 2025

Activities: Voice, piano, Make-a-Wish, theater, student council

Best Thing Happening in Schools: “The best thing happening with students in schools today is the amount of clubs that are created and available. We are so lucky to have the ability to create clubs that we are passionate about. With these clubs, everyone has a place and fits in somewhere.”

Ember Jensen

Pleasant Grove High School, Class of 2025

Activities: Theatre, choir, student council

Goal with UASC: “I hope everyone knows that we have a state council, and that we are here to support them in any way they need us. I would love to meet people and help them feel comfortable talking to the state council.”

Bethany Jessop

Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 2025

Activities: Theatre, student council, Miss Gunnison Valley, speech, choir, Sterling Scholar

Advice for Administrators: “Leave room for us to grow from our mistakes. Help us see the bigger picture so that we can really hone in on what’s most important and what needs to be a priority.”

Khader Syhla

Clearfield High School, Class of 2027

Activities: Orchestra, theater, student council, music

Goal with UASC: “Unify student organizations across the state by solving common issues among teens.”

Victoria Gordon

Cottonwood High School, Class of 2025

Activities: Student council, music, American Red Cross, HOSA

Biggest Challenge Facing Utah Students: “I see a huge decrease in motivation and self-esteem. Too many students are struggling with mental health issues.”

Liberty McMillen

Skyridge High School, Class of 2026

Activities: Girls Basketball, Sources of Strength, student council

Challenge and Solution: “Isolation and disconnection from peers at school. At schools, have events that everyone is invited to, and have student leaders personally invite those who may be lonely. Make sure there is a place for everyone.”

Abigail Combs

American Fork High School, Class of 2025

Activities: Track & field, student council, American Exchange Program President

Best Thing Happening with Utah Students: “I think Utah athletics are underappreciated. We have some of the best high school athletes in the nation!”

Roxy Richards

Juab High School, Class of 2026

Activities: Cheer, student council, dance

Advice for Administrators: “Be direct with us and explain why you are saying no to our ideas so we better understand what we can and can’t do. Make connections with the kids and participate in assemblies or activities.”

Caden Johnson

North Sevier High School, Class of 2025

Activities: Cross Country, Track, Golf, student council, FBLA, Rho Kappa, debate

Best Thing Happening: “The best thing happening is our ability to connect like no other generation. Ideas can be shared in an instant from around the state. People who would have never met can have real conversations because of our technology.”

Daniel Glahn

Mountain View High School, Class of 2026

Activities: Basketball, choir

Biggest Challenge and Solution: “Isolation. It’s really easy to go through your school day without talking to anybody. The solution? More interactive classrooms.”

This diverse group of leaders is committed to addressing challenges, creating connections, and supporting student growth statewide through the UASC.
